The event was a huge success and golfers, male and female, enjoyed the competition. In the professionals' (Gross) final round, Greg Maycock took first place closing out his score card with a low of 223. Tied at second were Jimmy Delancy (236) and Emalcus Hield (236). Closing out the top place finishers was Alex Gibson (246). In the championship flight (Gross Score) Peter McIntosh came in first with 240. Chris Harris followed with 241; Paul Bowe with 244; Bobby Rose, 256; Lou Kellman, 258 and Bill Willms, 259. Vernon Wells' 245 won him first place in the senior flight (Gross Score). Following Wells was George Swann with a 250 and Sam Morgan closed out the top three with 253. The first flight (Net Score) finishers included: R. H. Culmer, who topped the list with 214. Ernest Kearse was next with 228; Byron Barnard turned in a 230 score; Leroy Williamson, 232; Carlton Harris, 236 and Otto Fountain closed the scoring with a 239. In the super seniors (Net Score) Herbie Pitters scored 234 and Carvel Moxey turned in 234. Second flight (Net Score) finishers were Kenneth Basden (236); James Smith (240); James Gomez (258) and Winfred Glover (264). The third flight (Stableford Points) score cards had Mackey Missick finishing at the top of the list with 106; Allan Gardner with 100; Perry Cooper with 95; Novellette Wallace with 95; Ewart Chatell with 89 and Arlington Musgrove also with 89. Greg Maycok was the overall winner with 223. |
