FCP Employees walk to aid GB Kidney Assoc.

The Freeport Container Port Employees Council Second Annual Fun Walk in support of the Grand Bahama Kidney Association attracted a large group of employees who were joined by a cross section of the corporate community for the five-plus mile event this past Saturday.

Held under the theme 'Walking Hand-in-Hand towards a healthy lifestyle,' walkers began at 6:00 a.m. at the airport round-a-bout and some, with children in carriages, completed a trek to the Ranfurly Circus and back.

President of the FCP Employee Council, Ivan Barnett, who offered a prayer to begin the walk and noted the Council's wished to assist and lend a helping hand to the many persons on Grand Bahama who are in need of dialysis treatment.

FCP Director, Godfrey Smith, who also enjoyed the early morning walk, expressed delight that "health and safety awareness is paramount among employees; and, through their assistance to the Grand Bahama Kidney Association they are also assisting those on the island who are in need of the services provided by that organization."
