"I have many relatives who are Grand Bahamians and I have fond memories of spending numerous summer holidays in Freeport," Hepburn commented. "GBPA granted me a scholarship in 1984, which allowed me the opportunity to attend Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. After graduating with a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree in Marketing & Finance, I went on to work at the National Insurance Board (NIB). Mary, Star of the Sea Catholic School wins gold again in Spelling Bee
History has repeated itself as the Mary Star Stingrays have shone brightly in the nation's capital. This is the third time in five years the Mighty Sting-rays have won the Catholic Archdiocesan Spelling Bee. Local Sorority celebrates 99 years of excellence and service
In the spirit of the 22 Illustrious Founders and focusing on the Sorority's motto of being "called to serve and impacting communities," the members of the local chapter host programs such as the Domestic Violence Essay competition for high school students- to give students an opportunity to address this "silent killer" in our community, Diabetes Community Health Fair- to help educate the community about the disease that is ravaging our Bahamaland, and Reach for the Stars - a program that focuses on the most improved sixth grade student in each of Grand Bahama's primary schools.
