Divinely tempered! By Margarett Mullings
A mother watched from her window and observed her oldest son as he was digging the ground with a pickaxe to plant some flowering trees. To her dismay he really seemed to be working at it so hard, but he was unhappy and he complained so much. He was not making much progress with it, but he was doing his best. Immediately the mother knew this son would be skillful in another area... so she called her youngest son to do it. To her surprise the little boy tilled the ground with the pickaxe and his bare hands like a tractor. He had a look of joy on his face... guess what? He didn't even sweat... he made it look so easy. Then the revelation hit home to this mother that it is Yahweh who from in the womb tempers each person with everything needed to fulfill your divine destiny. Yet as parents many of us are guilty of tampering by manipulating our children into being what we want them to be, and not allowing them to be who Yahweh destined each of them to be. What if that mother had beat the son, and said to him... you are going to do this no matter what. By the wisdom of Yahweh, she saw he was absolutely failing at it... She thanked him for what he had already done, and freed him from it... the little boy had really given it his very best yet he failed to complete it. Sometimes when children are failing in an area it is wise to really take a serious look at which area Yahweh has gifted them. Many times that is the area they will excel in. Parents... How many times do we hear a child talking so much and say "Shut your mouth... you are always talking. You talk too much?" Careful... that child could be destined to become one of the best orators in his or her generation. The toddler who is beating all of your pots and pans to pieces so to speak. He could be destined to become the best drummer this world has ever heard. The child who is always drawing on the walls could be the best artist... the list is endless. Question is... Do we dare tamper with what Yahweh has tempered? In our daily walk, each of us has been divinely tempered by Yahweh to do a specific work. David was tempered to slay Goliath with a sling and a stone. I Samuel 17:49 "Then David put his hand in his bag and took out a stone; and he slung it and struck the Philistine in his forehead, so that the stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth." King Saul tempered with this when he insisted that David put on his armor coat. Fortunately for David, he insisted on completing his assignment using what Yahweh had given him. Jesus Christ was tempered to walk all the way to Calvary and although the odds all seemed to be against Him. He still kept on walking in confidence to do all that His Father bid Him to do. For He was divinely tempered to suffer beyond all human suffering... He paid the ultimate price. What about you? Do you know what you have been divinely tempered to do in this life? Are you passionate about what you are doing? Does what you are going through seem like too much to bear? I tell you... You are tempered by Yahweh to make it triumphantly through in spite of the naysayers, the back biters, all of the liars, the wizards, the witches, the dream killers, and all of the haters. Keep on abiding in the word and in constant prayer... communing with Yahweh! You have been divinely tempered to do mighty exploits to win souls for the Kingdom of Yahweh... Give Him PRAISE!
