– Prophetic Divination –

In our modern world the hearts of an entire generation hunger and thirst to better know and understand the supernatural realm. How-ever, it is this search that is giving rise to more and more spiritualism and satanic deviations especially in the area of the prophetics. The very nature and divine construction of man lends itself to this search as only a divine re-connection with God Almighty can fulfil the present void in the hearts of all humanity. Man is triune in design. He is a spirit, He lives in a body and he possesses a soul. In Genesis chapter one, we see Creator God establishing a law of creation. Whatever God wanted to create, He spoke to what He wanted it to come from and what He was calling forth was sustained by what He spoke to. For example, when He wanted fish, He spoke to the water and what He spoke forth came from what He spoke to; subsequently fish came from water and therefore must be sustained by water. Further, when He wanted plants, He spoke to the earth and plants came forth; subsequently plants are sustained by the earth. Consequently, anytime there is a disconnection of what God called forth from that which He spoke it from, death is the result. Take the fish from the water, it dies! Take the plant up out of the earth it dies! We follow this law of creation to the creation of man. When God wanted mankind, He spoke to Himself! (Genesis 1:26) Therefore, the same law of creation applies; what He was calling forth came from what He spoke to, and for mankind, it was Himself. Therefore you and I, mankind must be sustained by that which we were spoken out of; that is God Himself. Friends, it is the lack of understanding or denying this law of creation that is producing much of man-kind's problems in the world today. We are all searching for the supernatural realm to better understand our spiritual na-ture but to do this without re-connecting back to God will lead us into spiritual error. Friends, it is the fear, the reverence and the serving of God that is the beginning of wisdom; truly to know our destinies and to understand ourselves, we must come back to God. As a result, we are going to look at another form of spiritual error called "pro-phetic divination."

What is prophetic

divination?

Before we define prophetic divination, let's better understand the prophetic. The prophetic is a term that is widely used to describe or characterize the operations of prophecy. Prophecy comes from the Greek word, (prophani) which means, "to say (speak) forth beforehand." It is inspired communication from God. Prophesy is one of God's supernatural communication means that flows through His vessels known as or referred to as a prophet. The hallmark of prophesy is that it is foretold and precedes the occurrence in the earthly realm. It is predictive revelation spoken from the eternal realm of God to impact the natural or created realm of man with the eternal purposes of God. Divination is more commonly known today as the New Age physic movement. Divination is an institution of retrieving and ex-changing spiritual information that reports on people's future mainly their fortunes and tragedies from or through different objects. Common types of divination objects are tarot card readings, divining rods, tea leaf readings, lot casting, astrology, palm reading, numerology and the list goes on. Divination relies on objects inanimate or not for its information. Divination is often joined with forms of magic and sorcery with further exploits of herbs, potions, offerings and petitions all made to spirits for audience and favour. Necromancy is one of those practices that is no stranger in The Bahamas and other island regions as its roots are deeply tied to an African heritage.

So then, what

is prophetic

divination?

Prophetic divination begins with what we call in prophetic circles as "prophetic deviation." This is when a gifted prophet, called of God, be-gins to willfully stray or turn away from sound biblical prophetic standards. That prophet's objectives and pursuits are selfishly motivated for gain, greed or popularity. As prophetic deviation progresses, it is this operation that ultimately manifests in prophetic divination. Pro-phetic divination delivers pro-phecies based upon natural observances and prior knowledge. This is of self and driven of flesh. There's always a pattern of habitually prophesying the obvious which arises from the mental faculties of the minister. More often than not, they are polished Hollywood-style showmen who are skilled at looking at body language or who will rely on other information gathering tactics before they minister. In this hour, let us not be deceived! The prophetic Ezekiel tells us, "I the LORD God, say those lying prophets are doomed! They don't see visions – they make up their own messages! Is-rael's prophets are no better than jackals that hunt for food among the ruins of a city. They don't warn the people about coming trouble or tell them how dangerous it is to sin against me. Those pro-phets lie by claiming they speak for me, but I have not even chosen them to be my prophets. And they still think their words will come true. They say they're preaching my messages, but they are full of lies – I did not speak to them! So I am going to punish those lying prophets for deceiving the people of Israel with false messages."

~ Ezekiel 13:3-8

The prophet Hosea tells us that people perish because of a lack of knowledge; therefore when knowledge comes, perishing stops! Friends, let no advantage be gained over us in this season by satan: for today knowledge has come. Be encouraged and continue to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness for in this, all other things will be added unto you.
