The message of 'The Kingdom' Nation Building By Pastor Glen P. Rolle
There can be no meaningful transformation to nation building unless and until it is preceded by a message. A revolution is the result of something that was heard and that which was heard was so stirring and impactful that it required and provoked us to respond. How beautiful upon the mountain are the feet of those who proclaim good news and announced good tidings, declaring that salvation has come. Contrary to our belief, the gospel of the kingdom is not anti-nation building, neither is the reduction in our church-es a true measurement to gauge the appreciation and ac-ceptance of the gospel. Truth be told, it's our religious language and presentation of the gospel that is rejected by the emerging generation. That which has run its course and has now become a burden and a tradition can by no means become the inspiration to those most in need of hope. The gospel of the Kingdom emerges at a time when the existing systems by which we are governed are no long-er effective and a wilderness voice is dispatched to summon the people to a new place, "A place where the wilderness and the dessert becomes the new source for water." This shift is critical, and primarily so, because those who were most disenfranchised have now become primary candidates to respond to a message that not only challenges the status quo, but more importantly gives those once left out and considered insignificant, the opportunity to now become active par-ticipants in the building of new nations. Those most likely to reject the message for the new era, are holders of of-fices that possess authority and stature, not that the message comes at their exclusion but rather the message or revolt dismantles their status quo or makes their place less significant. Those most af-fected are usually holders of Political and Religious Of-fices. "Repent for the kingdom of God has arrived." The call to National Trans-formation begins at the place where we as a people are challenged to a total and com-plete reformation in the way we think and the way we do things. Those best positioned or poised to hear and respond are usually those left out in the last era, at the forefront of this new day are therefore the blind, the poor, the brokenhearted and all those once considered marginalized. "For the Spirit of God is upon me, and he has anointed me to preach good tidings to the poor." This is not anti-nation building, but rather an ad-justment so as to ensure in-justice and inequality is re-moved from Nationhood. No wonder then, where the gospel of the Kingdom is heard, every man presseth their way into it. "For the law and the prophet were preached until John, since that time the gospel of the kingdom is preached and every man pressed their way into it." For the first time in their generation, people from all walks of life and status, now have a place of significance around the table of Nation Building. The gospel of the kingdom is the dismantling of all known status quo, and the empowerment of those once considered mere door mats. Having said that, the gospel for a new era is best and most effective in causing to return that which was original in nature, for example those desiring to be great, embraced service as the new definition for greatness in their era, given this fact alone, the most likely to embrace this new model are those who were made or considered ordinary or servants in the last era, this shift in thinking now positions those left out last to now become the new leaders of a new day. That new day has come... the pattern for Nation Building is now within. For the kingdom is in us... the solution to our many national challenges is not at a distant place, but now becomes an expression that is representative of an ex-ceeding glory. A message that appeals to the empowerment of its entire people not only removes barriers and classes, but becomes a tool in the liberation of all mankind. This freedom has been the singular most evasive aspect of all of our lives... A return to dominance is by far our deepest cry and our most desperate pursuit. "Only the gospel of the kingdom can fill so deep a void." The challenges of our day, makes this environment most appropriate for such a message.
