With an impressive performance at the 2012 Grand Bahama Primary School of Athletics Associations Domino Pizza/Eula White All-Island Track and Field Championships, after capturing their second straight title at the Grand Bahama Sports Complex track stadium with a total of 565 points, the Hugh Campbell Hornets picked up five points and have moved to the number one ranking of The Freeport News Power rankings as of March 18, 2012, with a total of 13.5 points.

In second placed is the Walter Parker Pacers, who finished in second place at the GBPSAA Track and Field championships and gained three points, with a total of 13 points.

Previously number one ranked Maurice Moore Raccoons dropped to third place after finishing third, picking up two points and now have a total of 12 points.

The Freeport Primary Conquerors were the only other school to pick up a point after finishing in fourth place overall team; The Conquerors stand in 7th place with two points.

The following rules were applied in order to improve the logic of the rankings:

(1st place: five points; 2nd place: three points; 3rd Place: two points; 4th place: one point, also if no consolation game was played both teams received 1.5 points.)

* The top programs are the truly elite programs and a program cannot seriously be considered as the best of the best without ever winning a championship.

* The Keith Mullings/Jimmy Culmer basketball season, Anita Doherty/Neko Grant softball and GBPSAA Dominos Pizza /Eula White track and field championships' success was a major factor and is given more credit than any other factor.
