More showers expected this week
Lots of showers opened this week in the Northern Bahamas but fair skies are forecast for later.
According to the meteorologist office, a broad multi-layered low pressure system near the North Florida/Georgia border will help to sustain shower and thunderstorm activity across the Northwest Bahamas through early tomorrow.?Thereafter, weather forecasters said ridge of high pressure will build westward temporarily from the Atlantic and settle through Thursday, adding that a deep layered trough will move westward across the islands late Thursday through early Saturday.
For today, it's expected to be variable cloudiness in the Northwest Bahamas during the day with pockets of scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. The maximum temperature is expected to be 90°F. Tonight is forecast to be mostly fair with isolated showers and thunderstorms lingering mainly across the Northern Bahamas with the temperature dropping to a low of 77°F. Winds SE'LY 10-15 knots over all areas; Seas 2-4 feet over open waters.
Tomorrow, expect partly sunny and hot weather during the day with isolated showers and thunderstorms mainly across the Northern Islands as the temperatures again soar to a maximum of 90°F. Few clouds at night with a slight chance of an isolated showers and temperatures dropping to a minimum of 78ºF. Winds E-SE 10-15 knots in the Northwest and Central Bahamas. Seas 2-4 feet in the Northwest Bahamas. Small craft caution in effect for Southeast Bahamas.
On Thursday, it's forecast to be partly sunny, breezy and hot during the day with isolated showers with a maximum temperature again of 90°F. Mostly fair and breezy weather at night with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms while temperatures adjust to a minimum of 78°F. Winds E-SE 10-15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas. Seas 2-4 feet over open waters.
On Friday, a mix of sun and clouds, breezy but hot weather is expected during the day with occasional scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms. Maximum temperature 89°F. Mostly fair at night with few scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected with a minimum temperature of 77°F. Winds E-SE 15 knots in the Northwest Bahamas. Seas 3-5 feet.
As for the weekend, we are looking at more sun and clouds with isolated thunderstorms in the Northwest Bahamas and temperatures of 89F.
