A lone male driver escaped serious injury yesterday after his vehicle flipped over and landed on its roof.

The man, according to police, was traveling south along East Mall Drive in the left east bound lane when he lost control of his car, a black Nissan Sentra.

The vehicle overturned in the center median receiving extensive damage, resulting in police having to divert traffic in the immediate area.

The driver walked away from the accident unscathed.

Police continue to caution motorists to be vigilant and drive with due care and attention, particularly during peak traffic hours.

Traffic officers further remind drivers to wear their seat belts and ensure that all passengers in their vehicles do the same.
