From Florida to Freeport ... by jet skis

No one has ever attempted to jet ski from the Florida coast to The Bahamas in the last 11 years, but four Americans are expected to cruise into the Sunrise Resort and Marina today after a four-hour joy ride for a weekend retreat.
Tristan Reeves and Aaron Leiter, of Texas, began devising the plan to make the trip across the gulf stream and, the time it was complete, Dale Blackman, of New Jersey, and Brandon Cretu, of Pennsylvania, had also decided to join them.
This morning, weather permitting, the four fearless jet ski enthusiasts will depart Boca Raton and ride 75 miles of open water to the resort.
The four sportbike motorcycle riders and racers are reportedly no strangers to danger and excitement.
While they are scheduled to depart on Sunday, Resort General Manager Ta'Shar Cuccurullo said they intend to experience what Grand Bahama and the resort and Marina has to offer, inclusive of snorkeling and the nightlife, before they leave.
The resort executive explained what the group's feat means for the resort.
