Late artist's DVD hits the market By Laura Matthews Guardian Staff Reporter laura@nasguard.com
The Central Bank of The Bahamas yesterday held an exhibition to launch a commemoration package for late Bahamian female artist Kristin Penn-Davis. The life and works of the pop/culture music icon has been compiled on a DVD, allowing those who want to hold onto Kristin a while longer to do so. "We launched a musical work by Kristin and a DVD documenting some of her history," said Frank Penn, Kristin's father and former producer. "This evening's launch of Kristin's musical works along with the photographs and media display, highlighting some of her history, is probably the latest production that I will put together, (in) presenting and sharing Kristin with the public. We just wanted to remember her and we are doing it this way. This is her personal and music history and hopefully, her number of fans will seize the moment and get a moment of her life to share with family and friends abroad. She was one of our more prominent Bahamian artists and she represented The Bahamas well." The display will continue for the next two days and Nassauvians wishing to purchase any items, can go to the Central Bank, while persons living in Grand Bahama can buy such items at the GBI Recording and Television studio. "Your ownership of the DVD and one of her posters, will afford you the opportunity to experience Kristin up close and personal" her father said.
