Are you afraid to eat? Juledor Corneille Holistic Approach To Health
Do you know how many people out there are afraid to eat tomatoes, pizza or fried pork, just to name a few? And don't think I'm just talking about old people, with certain medical conditions. This is for the young and the old alike. These people are afraid to eat because they know what will happen once they have finished eating indigestion sets in. And for the most part, that is a very uncomfortable feeling. Some people sufer from sever cases of indigestion and heartburn, causing them to have to seek medical attention. Yes, certain foods can trigger these conditions. The more 'dead' foods you eat the more enzymes your body has to give up from your liver and pancreas to digest these 'dead' foods you consume. If you think of enzymes as money in the bank then indigestion is simply bankruptcy. So how do I get money back in the bank again? Simply by eating raw foods. No, not raw meat, but fruits and vegetables is what I mean by raw foods. You see, the longer your food stays in the stomach, gas forms and you know gas has to go somewhere, that is either up or down. With that being said let's move on. Ginger and cinnamon tea is very good for gas and even ginger ale soda surprisingly can help to eliminate gas from the body. Ginger can be smashed and left sitting for a few minutes to allow the enzymes to be activated and then boiled with cinnamon and that would make a wonderful tea to drink. Ginger is also a good addition to seasoning foods, especially your tough meats. Ginger will help to tenderize them. Peppermint is also another good herb for aiding indigestion. Peppermint is also good for irritable bowl syndrome or IBS. Tumeric extract (curcumin) is a spice that is also very beneficial for heart- burn. All of the above are very good for addressing food fears. But do you know which one is right for you? What I mean by this is that the problem you have may be connected to something that you do. For example, those of you who eat lunch while picking up the children from school would be different from the person who may be stuck in the office working, while eating lunch. Both these people may have the same problem with bad digestion. But the thing is how you address both persons would require different supplement protocols. Most of you who have gotten relief from taking other supplements that I have not mentioned, might be on the edge of your seat, but there is more than one way to skin a cat. Stress has a big part in affecting your digestion, so does adrenalin. When you are taking medications and certain antacids, the antacids may cause your medication not to work properly. Do you know that your birth control pill may lose some of its effect if taken with antacids? Do you know that persons taking HIV medications could loose up to 20 percent of the effectiveness of their medication if taken along with an antacid? The herbs that I mentioned earlier they only enhance and not reduce. Papaya is one of the best fruits that can be used to help with indigestion, yet some of us walk past it in our neighbours' yard and do not know what it is good for. Did I mention that it was a fruit? If you find you are having that burning sensation real bad after eating a meal, then you can use some aloe vera for soothing the burning sensation. If your stomach is sour then you can settle it with lime juice and a pinch of ginger. Do you know that after taking antibiotics you should be taking acidophilus, to rebuild the environment in the stomach? That's just a side note. Some people get real scared big time when they get hungry because they know they have to eat and they know when they eat what is going to happen. They know that their problem with indigestion is gonna overcome them as soon as they're through eating. Furthermore, for some people, when it is time to sleep, they know the burning in the throat will begin when they lay down. But there are so many natural ways to relieve indigestion. Do not be afraid to eat because herbs and fruits are here. There is more I have for you on this topic, we will continue this next week. Until then bon appetite. |
