Potential Team Bahamas Members

Team Bahamas is gearing up to represent at the 45th CARIFTA Games, March 26-28. This year the ganes will take center stage in Grenada.  

As usual, young  track and field athletes throughout The Bahamas are all looking forward to being selected to represent their country.

Here, at The Freeport News, leading up to the games we plan to introduce (or re-introduce) you to potential athletes that could be named to Team Bahamas. 

Today we start with: 

 

Brianne Bethel

School: Sunland Baptist 

Academy

Category: Under 20

Events: 100 meters and 

200 meters

History: Last year’s trip for Bethel included silver medals in the 200m and 4x400m. If selected this year, it will be the third time that Bethel is named to Team Bahamas for the Games.

 

Javan Martin

School: Tabernacle Baptist 

Christian Academy

Category: Under 20

Events: 100 meters and 

200 meters

History: As a member of Team Bahamas at last year’s games, Martin was the fastest man on the track in the 100m, which resulted in a gold medal. He also added a silver medal in the 200m. If selected this year, this will be Martin’s third time as a CARIFTA team member.
