Dr. Eddie Victor and Dr. Margo Victor are heading the Grand Bahama Economic Summit in partnership with the United States Global Leadership Council under the subject ‘Transforming Grand Bahama.’

The pastors of Living Water Assembly made this announcement during a press conference at the Freeport City Council headquarters on Monday, April 24.

Margo Victor stated that the summit will take place on Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Grand Lucayan at 8:00 a.m. and is free of charge.  Persons only need to register to receive one of the few hundred free tickets by contacting the Victors at 826-2286 or 352-6931 or by email celebratefreeport@yahoo.com

She informed that the purpose of the summit is to aid companies and individuals who are interested in improving Grand Bahama’s economy.

“It’s no news that Grand Bahama’s economy has been stagnant for more than a decade,” she said.

Victor added that the local economy is in this state despite government and private sectors investing to develop infrastructure, the educational system, a mature hospitality industry and industrial sector.

She noted that the Global Leadership Council seeks to challenge the dominant business paradigm of the day.

“We hope to encourage and challenge at the same time every sector of society, to see the importance of innovation and creativity, and bringing alignment with God’s grand plan for Grand Bahama Island,” she said.

She furthered that the Council comes with the vision and purpose that matches their ‘calling’ as pastors to see transformation take place on the island economically, socially and spiritually.

“We invite these speakers here for this event because their vision speaks of impacting nations through business development and global leadership and providing sustainable solutions through leadership integrity and advanced business strategies,” she said.

Victor stated that they hope to accomplish various objectives.  They include; establishing templates for successful economic strategies that fit the island, encouraging more competent business development, challenging business growth through high standards of ethics and value for the island’s resources, promoting solutions above profit and networking.

Dr. Victor stated that they believed the island is made for small and medium sized businesses along with large industries, which is why the summit is open to anyone.

“It’s important we provide a forum where I believe ideas and inspiration can be imparted to all who would attend,” he said.

Victor informed that every attendee would receive a certificate that can be used for continued educational purposes and employment.

He revealed that the summit would feature speakers such as Dr. Fernando Gonzalez, Dr. Rueben Egolf, Dr. Everett Hershey and Dr. Lelan Hershey, who are international experts in business development.

Egolf, Chairman of the United States Global Council released a statement that they are thrilled to visit the island.

“What we’re bringing to you is solutions for your infrastructures to be able to grow to be sustainable to be viable, and it all begins with all of us taking responsibility and to enhance our present for a greater future and a better tomorrow,” he said.

They would speak on pioneering new businesses, becoming and entrepreneur, development of light manufacturing businesses, import and export businesses, planning and business strategies and much more.
