GBYC to celebrate the holidays with its Seventh Annual Christmas Concert

Patrons attending the upcoming Seventh Annual Grand Bahama Youth Choir and Kevin G. Tomlinson Academy Christmas for the Family Concert on Thursday, December 22 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Freeport Bible Church will certainly be in for a spectacular treat.


Maestro Kevin G. Tomlinson, GBYC Artistic Director has arranged an original musical entitled ‘An Unusual Gift,’ which will be performed at the concert and according to critics’ preview it is an amazingly brilliant, must-see musical production.


“The Seventh Annual Christmas for the Family Concert is guaranteed to be an event the Grand Bahama community particularly musical lovers and thespians do not want to miss, as the GBYC along with Kevin G. Tomlinson Academy performing arts students introduce all to ‘An Unusual Gift’, which is a unique and original, dramatic musical.


“Our shows have always been about bringing families together during the Christmas holiday season and ensuring that the message of reconciliation is not only seen but also felt and heard.


“Critics have previewed ‘An Unusual Gift’ describing it as a must-see, particularly for teens hence we invite the entire Grand Bahama community to support this event and witness the God-given talent and performance artistry of our youth,” revealed Tomlinson.


Proceeds derived from the sale of tickets to the Seventh Annual Christmas for the Family Concert will be used to support the Kevin G. Tomlinson Academy Afterschool Performing Arts Programs, which assists talented youth as well as those looking to enhance and explore their interest in music and theatre.


Several surprise guests will also render awe-inspiring performances during the concert noted the GBYC artistic director including renowned Bahamian gospel singer Patrine Russell and former students of the choir, who have returned home for the holidays from various colleges throughout the United States of America (USA), Canada and Europe.


Thanking the Grand Bahama community for its continued support of the GBYC and the annual Christmas concert Tomlinson noted, “We strive to make a positive difference in the lives of our youth who possess remarkable talent and on a daily basis help to work diligently to be the best in all they do, by making the most of every opportunity provide them to leave their mark on the world.
